Here is a video about graphing tangent:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK6-tZ5D7xM
I also posted a video on Teams using the same method we used for sketching the first sine and cosine graphs using the unit circle and a piece of string.
Please become familiar with the tangent function. What is its period? Does is shift and stretch with the same types of changes as sine and cosine? I think Desmos is a great app that you can use to help explore this. No official assignment today but you will want to know tangent for our upcoming project.

Use your unit circle to determine the sign (positive or negative) of each of the 6 trig functions in each quadrant of the unit circle. For example, in quadrant III, sin() is negative because the y-value is negative and this corresponds with sin(). It can be helpful to look at the coordinate values because they have signs associated with the x and y values.

UPDATE (1:06 pm): Zoom is not visible through Clever.
Official assignments will start next week. I will be posting assignments on my website, on Office 365 and on IXL. There should also be some sort of instruction in video form. These will probably be posted on Office 365. It is really important that you are able to log in to all of these platforms.
I will also be setting up a schedule and holding online office hours. These will be through the Zoom app.
It would be a good idea to see if you can use the zoom app on your phone or computer. Try chatting with a friend.
On a computer you can download Zoom using Zoom.us
On a phone you can find the Zoom.us app
I will be sending or posting links for Zoom meetings when we set those up next week. I might do a trial run Friday sometime to see if you can all check in.
Please also catch up on old announcements:
- synergy technology survey
All of the apps can also be accessed through Clever so if you figure out how to sign in to that everything should be in on spot and you can just click the app to get to zoom or ixl or office 365.

- For the password, it should have sent you an email? But if you try a few times and can't get in, please email me and I should be able to email your password.
-Option 2: Go to clever.com/in/tusd1
-username: Matric(numbers)@s.tusd1.org
-password: same as school login
-Navigate to through the IXL app to find the high school math section for precalc and then trigonometry.
-Complete the review under Trigonometry practice #1 Convert between radians and degrees
(these should review concepts from the Khan Academy videos from Monday’s suggested learning)
Goal #2. Log in to Office 365
-Go to office.com
-Log in using your email as [email protected] and the same password you use to log in to a school computer.
(the goal is just to make sure you can log in)
Goal #3. Contact a friend
Get in touch with a friend and make sure they are have taken the technology survey I sent out through Synergy on Monday and that they are regularly checking my website. This will help make sure everyone is able to connect with the online platforms we will be using. Thank you!

Monday 3/23 - Announcements:
Hello everyone,
While it is still unclear how we are to proceed with instruction I wanted to offer some opportunities for you to be working in the meantime. I have decided to extend the late assignment deadline. Any missing work from last quarter can now be turned in for a grade. These assignments can earn a maximum score of 70%. Please find the assignments on my website and email me a photo or scanned copy when they are complete. Since it is more difficult to grade on a screen I am asking that you please take extra care to show your work and have clear handwriting. If it is too difficult to read I will let you know and ask that you rewrite it.
Normally we are starting our trig unit right now. This will cover radians/degrees, the unit circle, sine, cosine, tangent functions and some other topics. The Khan Academy videos are actually pretty good to start this unit. I would say a great goal for starting this week would be to watch the first five videos under "Introduction to Radians" and then do the practice problems.

Please check the website regularly for updates. I will share as much and as soon as I can.

- Imagine a cube made of smaller cubes, 3 by 3 by 3. Now imagine you dipped this cube in paint, so the entire outside surface is painted, and then took it apart. Of the small cubes, some wouldn't have any paint on them, some would have one face painted, some would have two faces painted, etc. How many small cubes have each number of faces painted?
