about me
I grew up in the small town of Miami, Arizona. After high school I attended The University of Arizona and graduated with a major in Optical Engineering and a minor in math. Once I graduated, I spent time traveling and working as an engineer in Japan and California. While I was in Japan I volunteered on a farm for three months near the base of Mt. Fuji. I was lucky enough to wake up with a beautiful view of the mountain every day and I had a wonderful time working outside growing organic vegetables. I recently completed my M.Ed in Teaching and Teacher Education from the University of Arizona.
I love spending time outdoors. When I have time, I go rock climbing, biking, hiking and camping. I also love snowboarding and skiing and I try to make at least one trip to the snow every winter. Bicycling to get around is my preferred form of transportation, and I try to make other decisions that will help preserve the wild places I love. I hope that I can share my enthusiasm for the outdoors with my students and help them have a safe learning space in my classroom while they are discovering their own passions in life.
