Wednesday 5/6
We are starting our final project for the class. Please thoroughly read the instructions posted below. Each of the 3 parts will have a corresponding assignment in Teams. Part 3 requires a zoom check in to get a quiz grade.
This is a great way to bring up your grade if you have been frustrated with how slowly the assignments are changing anything. It is also a lot of work so be prepared for that.

Thursday 4/30
Work on your nested set. Today you should complete the dodecahedron. This shape is for extra credit, but please remember that accuracy is important so if you are trying to improve your grade you need to have accurate figures and calculations. It is best to avoid random formulas from the internet that you don't understand. Think back to finding area of regular polygons by breaking them into triangles.
I would also suggest you make any corrections to edge lengths and shape construction of the first 3 shapes. Once you have everything accurately constructed you can check in with me at a zoom this week or next week and show me how they all fit nicely for extra credit.

Monday 3/30
The first assignment is POW#7. You have to find it in Office365 Teams and figure out how to submit your response using that platform.
New Lesson coming soon (today or tomorrow)!
It might be helpful to download the Teams App if you are using your phone.
On the app there is feed which Is where you can find the survey but you can also find it if you go to the assignments, choose a class, and it will show you the list of assignments both assigned and completed as well.
UPDATE (12 pm)!
Tomorrow we will have an assignment on circles. It will cover all the material we learned the last two weeks before Spring break. To prepare, the IXL practice that I recommended last week would be good. I will be posting the circles assessment in Teams.
IXL Circle Review
- Go to U. Circles and complete practice #1-3 (this was assigned as optional last week)
1. Parts of a circle
2. Centra angles and arc measures
3. Arc Length
Also complete practice on
4. Area of Sectors
5. Circle Measurements mixed review
6. Arcs and Chords
7. Tangent Lines
9. Inscribed angles
I also posted an optional circles review below. I am trying to give options and flexibility in this online learning. If you prefer, you can do those problems instead of IXL.

UPDATE (1:06 pm): Zoom is not visible through Clever.
Official assignments will start next week. I will be posting assignments on my website, on Office 365 and on IXL. There should also be some sort of instruction in video form. These will probably be posted on Office 365. It is really important that you are able to log in to all of these platforms.
I will also be setting up a schedule and holding online office hours. These will be through the Zoom app.
It would be a good idea to see if you can use the zoom app on your phone or computer. Try chatting with a friend.
On a computer you can download Zoom using Zoom.us
On a phone you can find the Zoom.us app
I will be sending or posting links for Zoom meetings when we set those up next week. I might do a trial run Friday sometime to see if you can all check in.
Please also catch up on old announcements:
- synergy technology survey
All of the apps can also be accessed through Clever so if you figure out how to sign in to that everything should be in on spot and you can just click the app to get to zoom or ixl or office 365.

Monday 3/23 - Announcements:
Hello everyone,
While it is still unclear how we are to proceed with instruction I wanted to offer some opportunities for you to be working in the meantime. I have decided to extend the late assignment deadline. Any missing work (except POW's) from last quarter can now be turned in for a grade. These assignments can earn a maximum score of 7/10. Please find the assignments on my website and email me a photo or scanned copy when they are complete. Since it is more difficult to grade on a screen I am asking that you please take extra care to show your work and have clear handwriting. If it is too difficult to read I will let you know and ask that you rewrite it.
I've also added a new POW (posted above). This will serve as a replacement POW if you have any that you missed last quarter or if you had a low score on any POW and would like to try to replace that score by doing better on this one. If you weren't missing any POW's it will go in as a normal grade IF it will bring your grade up. It will have a due date at some point but this will be somewhat flexible as we learn what our school situation will be over the coming weeks. Please aim to completed it by the suggested deadline above. Again, please email me the work/write-up and take extra care to make sure it is easy to read.
Please check the website regularly for updates. I will share as much and as soon as I can.
